Bieber misses out on the Grammy AND the top spot at the Box Office

Ok so I still have not seen this movie, and I really need to. As soon as I have a few free hours, I will. However, I am pretty surprised at the weekend box office numbers. "Justin Bieber lost out at the Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Pop Album, and he also came in a close second at the box office this weekend. His new concert documentary, "Never Say Never," earned $30.2 million, just below Adam Sandler's Just Go With It, which earned $30.5 million" according to Yahoo Movies. Also, as another surprise, his documentary failed to beat out Miley Cyrus' "Hannah Montana: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour." From what I have READ, his documentary has substance. Zorianna Kit of the Huffington Post says
"Pop star Justin Bieber's 3D documentary Never Say Never should satisfy any die-hard Bieber fan. At the same time, those dragged to come along will not only enjoy themselves, but actually come to appreciate the 16-year old singer and even root for him." New York Magazine says, "This sensationally engineered promo film makes Justin Bieber look like a true force of nature." However, the negative reviews are plentiful, and this film clearly attracts a narrow demographic. However, I truly thought this movie would blow out the box office. Let's see how it does in its second week.

Furthermore, when it comes to the Grammy, THAT I can understand. Justin Bieber is obviously the most POPULAR new artist, but that does not mean he is the best. Esperanza obviously portrays the more artistic side of music, whereas the Biebs is a teen heart throb of the 21st century. Kudos to the Grammy's for punking the world, though. Esperanza is now the superstar that nobody knows about!
