VMA Highlights: Beyonce is PREGGO, Tyler the Creator wins Best New Artist, and Gaga STOLE the show!

Let's see... VMA's recap...

Gaga rocked, Adele rocked, Bieber kissed Selena, Bieber thanked God AND Jesus, Bieber wore Harry Potter's glasses, Tyler The Creator won Best New Artist, Beyonce is preggo, oh, and did I mention? Gaga rocked.

Lady Gaga set the tone with her unbelievable performance. She opened the show with a monologue as Jo Calderone, a raunchy elvis-looking man, seemingly "complaining" about Lady Gaga. She manages to address stereotypes and pokes fun at herself. She maintained this role for the entire show, through her performance and when she introduced Britney Spears. Unfortunately, they didn't kiss. That left many disappointed, including me.

Here is Lady Gaga's opening monologue and her performance of her latest single, "You and I."

Here is Beyonce performing "Love On Top" and revealing her pregnancy at the very end:

Tyler the Creator won Best New Artist and featured his video, "Yonkers."

Here is his acceptance speech, and his video is underneath: P.S. I love how he addresses the kids in this manner. Very contradicting, but so typical of Tyler. He epitomizes awkward and raunchy.

Jonah Hill pokes fun at his weight loss with Nikki Minaj: "Now that you've lost weight, you're probably not as funny anymore..."

Adele had her debut VMA performance, singing "Someone Like You," and she was absolutely mind blowing, in my opinion.

Chris Brown performed a mastermix of some of his songs with a little rock and roll mixed in there. He even got a standing ovation from Kanye West, someone who had previously bashed him for his past involving Rihanna. People were criticizing the performance because of the obvious lip-syncing, but there is NO WAY that a human could perform this while singing. See for yourself.

Finally, Britney Spears' tribute performance (performed by KIDS), was amazing in itself. All of her hit songs mashed into one performance.

Finally, the show had a tribute to Amy Winehouse, which ended it on a bittersweet note... She was incredibly beautiful and gifted, and that was captured in this footage of her singing with Tony Bennett. Russell Brand introduces the tribute because she was a "mate" of his. He did a great job with this, because it was genuine.

News Briefs: Amy Winehouse, Kim & Kris' brief honeymoon, Will & Jada say, "Our marriage is intact."

AMY WINEHOUSE: Autopsy and VMA Tribute:

Everyone seems to be very surprised... the Autopsy found that there were NO illegal drugs found in Amy Winehouse's system; Yet, it is still unclear what killed her, according to her family. There was, however, "Alcohol present" in her system, but they have yet to find out if that was a factor in her death.

The VMA's this year will do a special tribute to the late Pop Star. Entertainment Weekly states, "The legendary Tony Bennett, whose duet with Winehouse on “Body and Soul“—the last recording made before her death—appears on his upcoming Duets II, will have the honor of introducing the tribute."

When can we hear this single? Entertainment Weekly also reports that, "The single and video will be released for purchase by Columbia Records Sept. 14, which would have been Amy’s 28th birthday. Proceeds will support the Amy Winehouse Foundation established by the late singer’s family."

KIM KARDASHIAN AND KRIS HUMPHRIES GO ON A HONEY:

At least they're similar in height...
I call it "honey" because it was nowhere near a full honeymoon.

The New York Post reports that the newlyweds left LAX on Monday for a trip to Caprice.

Initially, Kim and Kris were postponing their honeymoon until 2012, but they were able to squeeze in a quickie, he he.

Kim has to be back in LA on Sunday to present at the MTV Video Music Awards.

WILL AND JADA UPDATE:

[Updated, 1:45 p.m. Aug. 23: "Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false," the Smiths said Tuesday in a joint statement. "We are still together, and our marriage is intact."

This evening, Jaden Smith, their youngest son, tweeted:

Jaden Smith

Is this all a rumor? I hope so. 14 years is such a long time in Hollywood.

Two years ago, Jada Pinkett Smith had a revealing interview with Ebony magazine. In that interview, she said,

"When Will asked me to get married, I said, ‘Understand this, there will be no divorce. So, you might be in one bedroom and I might be in another, but we’re gonna be under the same roof and we’re gonna be married.”

Will and Jada have been known to have a very open marriage... They say it has been that way since the day they got married. Reportedly, he believed that that was the key to their success in the relationship. However, is it too open?

In an interview with the UK Magazine Reveal, Will goes in depth about the openness of his marriage:

"Our perspective is, you don't avoid what's natural and you're going to be attracted to people."
"And if it came down to it, then one would say to the other: 'Look, I need to have sex with somebody. Now, I'm not going to if you don't approve of it'."
"In our marriage vows, we didn't say 'forsaking all others'. We said 'you will never hear I did something afterwards'. Because if that happens the relationship is destroyed."

Maybe Charlize was able to get in on the fun too? That is just too much hottness right there. Will, Jada, AND Charlize? Sheesh.

Georgia woman mourns her son's hit-and-run death while facing 36 months in jail for jaywalking

As if losing your 4-year-old child isn't hard enough, Raquel Nelson has to await sentencing for allegedly "jaywalking" on the day of her son's death.

On April 10, 2010, Nelson and her three children were crossing a busy Marietta street when a car came and impaled all three children, killing one. "[The young boy] flew up in the air," claimed an eye witness.

This is the scene of the crime. You can see the distance between the stop and the cross walk.
As a regular user of public transportation, she had missed the bus that day. Her apartment is right across the street from the bus stop, and the nearest crosswalk is nearly a half a mile away, so she crossed one side of the divided highway to the median, where she waited for a break in the traffic. This was not out of the ordinary for anyone. This is what everyone did to cross the street, simply because the next crosswalk was so far.

Jerry Guy
According to the Huffington Post, "Police were able to track down the driver, Jerry Guy, who later admitted he had been drinking and had taken painkillers the night of the accident. He was also mostly blind in one eye. Guy had already been convicted of two prior hit-and-runs."

Could this story get any more tragic? Yes. What if I were to tell you that this broken mother is facing more time in jail than the man that killed her child AND fled the scene? SIX TIMES more, in fact.

How is that possible?

The Huffington Post reports that, "Last week Nelson herself was convicted on three charges related to her son's death: reckless conduct, improperly crossing a roadway and second-degree homicide by vehicle. Each is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 12 months in prison."

Jerry Guy plead guilty over a year ago, and was initially sentenced to five years in prison. However, he was released after just six months.

This is the eldest daughter being walked off of the scene after being struck. She was the only child that was not injured.
Raquel Nelson is a single mother with three children, living in a busy Atlanta suburb who has to rely on city transportation to get by. Nelson claims that the jury who sentenced her could not relate to the conditions that she lived in.

What is considered "justice" in this case?

Amy Winehouse dies: Reason remains unknown (VIDEO FROM CONCERT INCLUDED)

The 27-year-old pop sensation was found dead in her London home today. Cause of death remains unknown.

During her latest European tour, she was questioned about her reckless and incoherent behavior on stage during a Belgrade performance in June.

In a 2008 interview, her own mother even said that she would not be surprised if her daughter, Amy, died before her. In that same chilling interview, her mom said:

I've known for a long time that my daughter has problems. But seeing it on screen rammed it home. I realise my daughter could be dead within the year. We're watching her kill herself, slowly.

'I've already come to terms with her dead. I've steeled myself to ask her what ground she wants to be buried in, which cemetery. Because the drugs will get her if she stays on this road.

'I look at Heath Ledger and Britney. She's on their path. It's like watching a car crash - this person throwing all these gifts away.

The troubled singer has a past of drug and alcohol abuse along with many stints in rehab (that were clearly unsuccessful).
